The Healer
Michele Harshenin, R.S.W., is a Level III Reconnective Healing Practitioner, Usui Reiki Master and a Registered Social Worker with a growing photography business and healing/counselling practice in Okotoks, Alberta. Born and raised in Southern Alberta surrounded by the natural beauty of the Foothills and Rocky Mountains, Michele began her career working as a graphic designer. After ten years in the design field, life-changing events forced Michele to reevaluate her role in the world.
Over the past four years, Michele has counselled youth in care, worked as a school counsellor with young children and their families, and worked as a manager/counsellor of an emergency women’s shelter. Through personal and professional experiences, Michele has come to realize that the greatest healing comes from within. She believes that each of us has the potential to heal ourselves, if we are first able to see ourselves as worthy of love, joy and peace.
The Artist
Michele began photographing Intimate Portraits of Nature in 2007, six months after she received The Reconnection™. While on a yoga intensive at Yasodhara Ashram, Michele experienced a profound healing of past childhood trauma and began to see all things in a different light. Surrounded by the peace and tranquility of the Kootenay’s, she began to notice the subtle energies of the flora. As she became captivated by the feminine vibrations of Nature, she began to realize that Nature is constantly communicating with us, calling us to awaken and realize our hightest potential. Through her beauty and purity, she is reminding us of who we truly are - creators of our own existence.
Shortly after her return from the Ashram, Michele’s father passed away suddenly. Surrounded by the healing beauty of flowers, thus began her journey into the intimate world of what she calls, Spiritual Nature Photography.
Before going out to photograph, Michele calls upon the Universe for guidance and clarity in capturing the messages Nature intends for us. With an intention of helping to heal and awaken humanity, each image is meditated upon and the essence of the image is captured in a single word, then hidden within the folds of the image. Each intuitively captured image emanates a unique vibration and meaning, which provides inspiration for an accompanying message of love & healing.
The Vision
Michele hopes these images will inspire you to revere the beauty and healing powers of Nature, and to realize your own inner wisdom, divinity and ability to create your own existence. Her deepest wish is for each person to see themselves reflected in the eyes of God, to know that they are loved and that they have the ability to create the world they dream of living in.
